Chiky Martín was born in Madrid, where she studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music with professors María Teresa Fuster and Pedro Lerma, achieving the Extraordinary Prize at the end of studies.
She has the chance to work with Rosa Sabater, María Curccio, Christopher Elton and Josep Colom in several performing and chamber music courses, although her real chamber training comes with Maestro Félix Lavilla, with whom she has a close musical relation since 1992.
She has offered a great number of recitals and concerts collaborating with great artists such as: María Orán, Marcial Cervera, Aurora Nátola-Ginastera, Reine Flachot, Carlos Prieto, Michele Arrignon, María José Montiel, Gabriel Croitoru, Agustín Prunell-Friend, Ana Häsler, Asier Polo, etc…
Chiky Martín has performed at the at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and for the Philharmonic Societies of Las Palmas, Oviedo, Zaragoza, La Coruña, in the Chamber and Poliphony series, Chamber Music series of the Juan March Foundation, the International Contemporary Music Festival in Alicante, at the Teatro Real in Madrid, as well as Lisbon, Stuttgart, Istanbul, Mexico, Panama, Melbourne, Freiburg, Varsovia, San Petersburgo (Philharmonic Hall)…
She accompanies Teresa Berganza in a tour of recitals through Australia, that finishes with a memorable concert at the Sydney Opera House.
The soprano María Orán and Chiky Martín, who perform together regularly, recorded two CD’s for EMI with Antón García Abril’s entire vocal works for song and piano, which were received with great enthusiasm by the audience and the critics.
