If Cervantes's novel is fundamentally an adventure, this Caballero de la Triste Figura is an adventure, a wonderful musical that alternates with the theatre’s opera, minimalism in the stage with musical tension in a balanced symbiosis between the two artistic disciplines.

With a small orchestral group and a narrative composed of dialogues, descriptions and poetry of Don Quixote, Tomas Marco has created a synthesis and gloss of Cervantes's work, integration of realism and fantasy to deepen human relationships from multiple perspectives through the irresistible character who wants to do good and live life as a work of art.

The opera takes place in a single stroke, always in line with this "new simplicity" of the music of Tomás Marco, entrenched in the expository clarity and effectiveness of their communication, a discourse that aims not only to be considered as pure music.
